Do This Daily To Keep Your Mind Sharp!

From Netscape Homepage!

Exercise every day, and you're more likely to keep your mind sharp well into old age. Staying physically fit throughout your life is not only good for your body, but also it's the perfect prescription for your mind and memory. Researchers from the V.A. Medical Center in San Francisco found that adults who were the most fit at the start of a six-year study maintained their mental sharpness over time and did better in tests of their mental function conducted years later than did their less physically fit peers, reports Reuters. "Physical activity appears to be good for the brain as well as the body," study author Dr. Deborah E. Barnes, told Reuters. "Older adults with higher levels of cardiorespiratory fitness experience a slower rate of cognitive decline over time." The experiment: Cardiorespiratory fitness reflects how well the heart and lungs process oxygen during exercise. In this study, the researchers gave 349 adults aged 55 and older a treadmill test to measure their cardiorespiratory fitness, as well as a mental function test that required them to register and recall words and follow nstructions. No one had any symptoms of cardiovascular disease, physical disability, or mental impairment at the start of the study. The results: Those who were most fit at the beginning of the study were also the least likely to experience mental decline over the six-year period, while those who were the least fit were also more likely to suffer a mental decline as time went on. Why? A person who has cardiorespiratory fitness may also be at a lower risk for cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes, all of which are known to be associated with poor mental function in older adults. In addition, cardiorespiratory fitness may be directly associated with blood flow in the brain. Reduced blood flow to the brain has been linked to lower mental function in both Alzheimer's disease patients and normal older adults, reports Reuters.

The study findings were published in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society.

They Are ALL Home, Finally!!!!!!

Last members of 155th return
Guardsmen back from Iraq; largest deployment since World War II

The Associated Press

The final members of the 155th Brigade Combat Team are back from Iraq. The brigade deployed a year ago with 3,500 Mississippi Guard soldiers and others from across the country. The final group, including unit commander Brig. Gen. Augustus Leon Collins, had been expected to arrive earlier in the week but their flight was delayed. The Sunday death of Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmed al-Sabah, Kuwait's emir, had temporarily grounded all flights in and out of Kuwait.
About 75 members of the brigade landed in Gulfport on Thursday. The others had arrived in waves since just before Christmas. The return marked the end of the largest Mississippi deployment since World War II.
"It is a magnificent day," said Maj. Gen. Harold A. Cross, Mississippi's adjutant general.Cross said the 155th did more than just fight while in theater. The soldiers worked in construction, engineering and also set up a farming cooperative in a region that had never been farmed before.
"They stabilized a critical area," Cross said.Collins, the first black general officer of the Mississippi National Guard, was promoted while deployed. He was offered leave to help family members on the Coast, but he waived it.
The 155th had 24 members killed in Iraq. Fourteen were Mississippi Guardsmen. The group that arrived Thursday was a mixture of soldiers from across Mississippi and the country.Maj. Lawrence House, a Mississippi National Guardsman living in College Station, Texas, said he has been deployed before, but this one was different.
"I am ready to be home," he said. "This is my third tour, but it is the first time I returned to a wife."His wife, Cristy, was the only spouse at the Gulfport hangar Thursday night.
Most families were at Camp Shelby near Hattiesburg, where the soldiers were transported immediately following their arrival.

What A Beautiful Ride

Beautiful Ride
As sung by Gary Allan

I heard this song on my way to Camp Hood BSA Camp yesterday ... And I had to pull over ...the lyrics took me by surprise... They were an answer to a recently whispered prayer.... I pulled over and just listened and cried! God speaks to us sometimes in the most unusual ways! It is awesome when God tells you he is listening and he is there and yeah life if hard but you will get through it... as the saying goes what doesn't kill us makes us stronger! Never give up on yourself, or those you love but mostly don't ever give up on God he is there and he does care and he is listening to our prayers! We get thrown curved balls sometimes; life is just that way but never think for one moment God is not there or has deserted you for he is always there .... Even on Miss103 on a rainy afternoon in the middle of nowhere Mississippi! Thank God for his eternal presence in our lives!

Life aint always beautiful
Sometimes it's just plain hard
Life can knock you down, it can break your heart
Life aint always beautiful
You think you're on your way
And it's just a dead end road at the end of the day
But the struggles make you stronger
And the changes make you wise
And happiness has its own way of takin it's sweet time
No, life aint always beautiful
Tears will fall sometimes
Life aint always beautiful
But it's a beautiful ride
Life aint always beautiful
Some days I miss your smile
I get tired of walkin all these lonely miles
And I wish for just one minute
I could see your pretty face
Guess I can dream, but life don’t work that way
But the struggles make me stronger
And the changes make me wise
And happiness has its own way of takin it's sweet time
No, life aint always beautiful
But i know i'll be fine
Hey, life aint always beautiful
But it's a beautiful ride
What a beautiful ride

Hit The Road Jack! And Dontcha Look Back!!!!!!!

15 Ways to Sneak In Walking Time
from ChangeOneDiet.com

No time to exercise? We don't buy it! There's no one who can't spare 30 minutes for a walk or fit more movement into his day. Remember, exercise helps your cells soak up more glucose so there's less of it in your bloodstream. And once you get going, it feels terrific. Take these 15 opportunities to shake a leg.
1. Turn off the TV. You can fit in a 30-minute walk just by giving up one sitcom -- especially if it's a rerun.
2. Walk while you talk. Visit with a friend over a walk instead of lunch or coffee, or use a cell phone and gab while you tool around the neighborhood on foot power.
3. Walk somewhere you need to go. It's called "running" errands, but if you can walk when you do them, great! Next time you have to pick up milk or mail a letter, walk to the nearest grocery store, post office, or mailbox instead of driving there.
4. Hit the stairs. It takes about the same time to wait for the elevator as it does to climb a flight of stairs.
5. Walk the dog. Instead of letting him out in the backyard, give both of you some exercise by taking him (or letting him take you) for a jaunt through the neighborhood.
6. Use your tube time. If you watch more than one hour of TV a day, invest in a treadmill and log a couple of miles during your favorite program.
7. Park farther away. You won't have to fight for a parking space at the mall, the movie theater, or the grocery store, and you'll barely notice the walk to the door.
8. Hustle at halftime. Next time you go to a sporting event -- whether it's professional football or your grandson's softball game -- don't stay on the bench. Get up and walk around during halftime, in between quarters, or during time-outs. Just steer clear of the hot dog stand. 9. Pace while you're waiting. Hurry up and wait -- it's a fact of life. While you're waiting in the airport, at the doctor's office, or at the take-out place, pace instead of sitting.
10. Clean the house. There's no doubt about it: Housework is work. But who doesn't enjoy the results? To get even more exercise mileage, alternate between upstairs and downstairs chores (instead of cleaning one floor at a time) to take advantage of the stairs -- your home's best calorie burner.
11. Babysit. Spend some time with a toddler and you'll quickly realize (or remember) that they never sit still. You'll have to chase them around to keep them out of trouble.
12. Comparison-shop. If you find an item at the mall, check out other stores to see if they have it for less. You'll burn calories and potentially save money.
13. Use your lunch break. Eat lunch at your desk, then take a walk around the building or the block. You'll have more energy for the afternoon -- and will be more likely to avoid hitting the vending machine for a pick-me-up.
14. Pay your bills online. Or sign up for automatic bill paying through your credit card company. With the time you save, you can fit in one 30-minute walk. And your bills will never be late!
15. Listen to books on tape. Instead of sitting down to read, buy the book on tape and log some foot time as you play it on your portable stereo. You may even find yourself extending your stroll to hear more.

8 Ways To Stop Obsessing Over Weight Loss!!!!!

Throw your scale away and learn how to lose weight and get in shape without driving yourself crazy.
By Sarah AlbertWebMD Feature
Reviewed By Brunilda Nazario, MD
From WebMD ..... This is an AWESOME site!!!! Visit It Won't You!

As another year comes to a close, lots of promises to get in shape and lose weight remain unfulfilled. Let's face it, most of us have the same resolution over and over again, like vowing to give up junk food and start exercising on New Year's Day only to find ourselves on the sofa enjoying a bag of chips within a few days. While lots of folks will abandon their efforts in just a few days or weeks on the treadmill, others may find themselves obsessed with finally trimming the fat for good.
But how do you know when you've taken things too far? Is ordering your dressing on the side or having a daily weigh-in a sign of obsession, or are these just examples of some of the small ways you can help achieve your weight loss goals? We asked two experts to weigh in on some of the warning signs that you've taken your fitness or diet routine too far, and they offered tips for preventing obsessive thoughts and behavior.
Remember the Weight of Water
You might want to try scaling back when it comes to weighing yourself. In fact, you might want to skip the scale all together, says Olivia H. Beckman, MD, who is the medical director of the eating disorders program at Walden Behavioral Care. The only reason to have a scale, she says, is to monitor your weight for medical reasons. Otherwise you can leave it to your health care provider to monitor your weight even if you're trying to lose a significant amount. After all, it's natural for our weight to fluctuate by a few pounds on a monthly, even daily basis, especially for women. Beckman says if you find yourself basing your daily fitness and diet on what the scale says in the morning, you're likely to make unhealthy and unnecessary decisions, namely skipping meals or working out excessively. The solution to scale obsession might be as simple as throwing it away, and instead using how your clothing fits -- and how you look and feel physically -- as a weight barometer or guide.
If you need a little motivation for giving up your scale, keep in mind that often minor weight fluctuations aren't as real as the numbers would have you believe. "Quick weight loss is rarely fat loss that stays off but rather a loss that is a mixture of water weight, lean protein mass, and some fat," says Susan Mitchell, PhD, a registered dietitian working with a program to help promote the dietary intake of fruits and vegetables.
Eat Based on Nutritional Value Instead of Calories
"Portion size determines total calorie intake, but if all the calories are from marshmallow peeps, your body will not run like the fine-tuned machine it is designed to be," says Mitchell. "You may lose weight but you may also lose hair, have dry skin, awful nails, and that's just what you see on the outside." Mitchell says you can also lose muscle and bone mass from vitamin and mineral deficiencies, which can lead to osteoporosis.
Stop Playing Survivor at Home
If you're trying to lose weight, especially a significant amount of weight, do it gradually. Remember, slow and steady wins the race. In fact, starvation or rapid weight loss can actually trigger weight obsession, says Beckman. Long-lasting weight loss takes time, so planning to lose weight for a party or wedding or prior to a life change like starting college can also trigger obsession and lead to an eating disorder.
Beckman says if you're starving yourself or not eating enough you're also more likely to trigger binges. Instead, try having smaller meals more frequently or three meals a day, with snacks in between. "The metabolism does better and actually speeds up if you eat regularly," says Beckman. If you're struggling with an eating disorder or obsessive dieting, you should make sure you eat even more regularly to avoid an intense and sudden urge to eat large amounts of food. Try focusing on making smaller, more long-lasting, and less extreme changes. Just make sure that those small changes are in balance with the rest of your life instead of your primary focus.
Pass the Bread Basket
It's not a good sign if you start sweating and feel overwhelmed with anxiety every time you see, or even dare to eat, a doughnut or some other food chock full of carbs and sugar, especially around special occasions. You want to be reasonable in your consumption of all foods and eat some healthy foods and some junk foods, says Beckman, especially around the holiday season. Too much restriction can lead to late-night bingeing and obsessive thoughts about certain foods. If you're going to a holiday party, for example, check your food anxiety at the door and plan on enjoying a treat. That doesn't mean you have to camp out by the buffet table all night, but plan to enjoy some treats in moderation. Avoid going to the party hungry, which often leads to overindulgence.
Another reason not to ban food groups altogether, like carbohydrates, is the very real health benefits a balanced diet offers. If you are obsessing over your carbohydrate intake, for example, you might be missing important nutrients that only fruits and vegetables can provide. The added bonus? "Because they are high in fiber and water and low in calories, you can eat a lot more of them and still lose weight," says Mitchell. You'll also feel more satisfied and full after a large salad or bowl of veggies, helping to keep you away from that bag of chips or chocolates hiding not so subtly in your cupboard.
Get a Hobby
The most obvious sign that you or someone you love is obsessed with weight loss is if all you do is talk about it, despite the bored and appalled faces of your friends, family, and co-workers. An obsession isn't a passing thought that you have now and then, Beckman tells WebMD. "It really is an all-day thing." Any obsession can interrupt your life and take you away from more important things that should take precedent. "If your body is your main project, that's obsessive," Beckman says. Try channeling your energy and time into other things that are also as important and fulfilling.
Stop Watching What Other People Eat
It's natural to notice what other people eat, especially your children. But there is a big difference between noticing what someone else eats and dwelling on it, says Beckman. You also want to avoid basing your own dietary decisions on what someone else eats. "It's not about noticing what other people eat; it's about whether or not it is troubling to you."
Don't Take Fitness Too Far
You can have too much of a good thing, even something as healthy as exercise. Beckman says if you hit the gym a few times a week for 30 minutes to an hour or so, you're right on track. But if you find yourself working out two hours a day at the gym, and jogging at night because you need to burn off a dessert you didn't have preapproved in your food diary, you might be in trouble. "If you're exercising because you're worried about cardiovascular risk in your family, that's a rational, healthy decision," says Beckman. Exercising based on your food intake is not healthy. "Working out to burn off a meal is obsessive."
Recognize When You Need Help
Don't try to manage your weight alone if you think you've developed an eating disorder or are struggling with obsessive thinking and behavior. Beckman recommends that you enlist the help of a therapist, doctor, and nutritionist. Luckily there is a broad spectrum of treatment available, both inpatient and outpatient programs, depending on the severity of your condition. If you think you're on your way to developing an eating disorder or are already in the grips of one, don't put off getting help. And if you're just trying to get rid of some extra weight, take these tips to heart. Try keeping your fitness and eating plan healthy and balanced in the New Year. You might even ditch fad diets or weight loss schemes for good. Now that's a resolution worth keeping.

Are you an Apple Or Pear????? And Why It Is Important!!!!!!!

Big Belly or Big Butt: Which Is Better?
What does your body shape say about you? It reveals more than you may know!
Women's health expert Dr. Marie Savard, a physician and author of "Apples & Pears: The Body Shape Solution to Weight Loss and Wellness," says the single most powerful predictor of a woman's health is not how much she weighs, but rather the shape of her body, which shows where she stores excess fat.
Belly: Women who gain weight around their middle--the classic apple shape--are more likely to develop heart disease, diabetes, and breast cancer. Butt: Women who gain weight around their buttocks, hips, and thighs--the pear shape--are more susceptible to osteoporosis.
Belly or butt? Why does it matter? According to Savard, it all boils down to where we store our excess fat. Fat stored within the abdomen is a hormone and chemical powerhouse that can lead to increased risk of serious medical disorders. Excess fat stored in the "pear area" is actually protective.
"Women need to throw away the scale and dig out the tape measures in order to better measure health risks and get a jumpstart on preventing them," suggests Savard. "By knowing if they are an apple or a pear, women can make smarter decisions about their diet, exercise, and other health strategies, including which medical tests they need by the time they turn 40. The first step is to discuss their body shape with their doctor--even bring a tape measure to their next appointment."
How do you determine your body shape?

Measure around the narrowest part of your waist to determine your waist circumference.
Measure around your hips--about three or four inches below your pelvis bone.
Divide your waist circumference by your hip measurement to get your waist-to-hip ratio, or WHR.
What your measurement means:
A WHR higher than 0.80 means you are apple-shaped.
A WHR higher of 0.80 or less means you are pear-shaped.

20% Of Us Do THIS In The Car!!!!!!!

From What's New Link On Nescape Homepage:

Just over 20 percent of American adults say they have their most creative thoughts in their cars, according to the 2005 Lemelson-MIT Invention Index survey of 1,003 adults, which gauges Americans' attitudes toward invention and innovation. Maybe this will help you better tolerate that rush hour traffic jam: Instead of being frustrated at the delay, think of it as time for your next creative breakthrough.
"Many Americans feel they spend half their lives in the car, but we were surprised by just how many people felt their daily commute was conducive to creative thinking," Lemelson-MIT Program Director Merton Flemings said. "But when you stop to think about it, it makes sense. Daily commutes in this country are getting longer each year, and the car may be one of the last environments in which we can escape from our over-stimulated lives and just be alone with our thoughts."
We get our most creative ideas in these places:
In the car: 20.4 percent
In the office, workspace, or school: 19.9 percent
In bed: 15.6 percent
Outdoors: 14.4 percent
In the bath or shower: 4.9 percent
Exercising: 4.9 percent
Watching television: 1.6 percent
Listening to music: 1 percent
Americans spend more than 1,000 hours each year, or 11 percent of the year, in front of television sets, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. By contrast, Americans spend an average of 260 hours each year commuting, according to a U.S. Census study. "Television has an important place in our culture," Flemings said. "However, our society faces significant challenges that will require fresh and imaginative ideas. Young people, especially, need to gain real-world experiences and be exposed to environments that are conducive to creative thought. That means turning off the TV every so often."
Our most creative ideas come when we're...
Alone: 66.1 percent
It's quiet and there are no disruptions: 47.1 percent
Not stressed: 32.3 percent
Working with others: 24.5 percent
Under pressure: 23.3 percent
Competing against others: 15.1 percent
There's a lot of noise and activity: 6.1 percent

Workouts That Seem To Work

The ABS Diet Workout ---- This is a DVD that I got at Walmart --- you choose your workout level! There is a book out that goes along with this that has the diet in it but I am not doing it so don't really know too much about it!

Walk 5 miles 3 times a week or 3 miles 5 times a week ---- Saw this is prevention magazine --- I try to walk 3 miles Monday through Thursday and 5 miles on Friday

I find that these the yoga moves seem to work or at least make you sore; these were found in Prevention Magazine; October 05 (I do twenty reps each move):
Chair Flow
Moon Flowers
Boot Angles
Boat Lifts

3 weeks 3 days 3 minutes to fab abs (Prevention Magzine; Sept 05) I do twenty reps here too!
The double leg stretch
Crisscross (crunch of sorts)
The swim
The teaser

I also bought an exercise ball and am trying to learn to use it according to enclosed workout sheet.... keeping your balance alone works some major muscle... I got my ball at Walmart it was the $11.00 one by Athletic Works.

Be sure if you do a workout that you do it three times a week for at least 30 minutes a day... get your heart rate up and be sure to stretch... Also rest in between workouts in other words workout MWF one week and TTS the next week and so on!

Some of these exercises require dumbbells so I would suggest 3 to 5 lbers to start!

But the most important part of any workout routine is to have FUN!!!!!!! And to do it for you and no one else! Stay motivated and work hard!

Good luck and good health! Yoga moves below: Chair Flow; Moon Flowers; Boat Angles/lifts

BOONDOCKS!!!!!

(Chorus:)I feel no shame
I'm proud of where I came from
I was born and raised in the boondocks
One thing I know
No matter where I go
I keep my heart and soul in the boondocks
And I can feel
That muddy water running through my veins
And I can hear that lullaby of a midnight train
It sings to me and it sounds familiar
(Chorus)
And I can taste
That honeysuckle and it's still so sweet
When it grows wild
On the banks down at old camp creek
Yeah, and it calls to me like a warm wind blowing
(Chorus)
It's where I learned about living
It's where I learned about love
It's where I learned about working hard
and getting by with just enough
It's where I learned about Jesus
And knowing where I stand
You can take it or leave it, this is me
This is who I am
Give me a tin roof
A front porch and a gravel road
And that's home to me
It feels like home to me
(Chorus)
I keep my heart and soul in the boondocks
You get a line, I'll get a pole
We'll go fishing in the crawfish hole
Five-card poker on a Saturday night
Church on Sunday morning
(2x)You get a line, I'll get a pole
We'll go fishing in the crawfish hole
(Down in the boondocks)
Five-card poker on a Saturday night
Church on Sunday morning
Say a little prayer for me

The Best Things In Life

by Tracye WM Prewitt and David Wynne
compiled in 2000

Falling in love
Laughing so hard your face hurts
A hot shower
No lines at the Super Wal-Mart
A special glance
Getting mail (any kind)
Taking a drive on a scenic road
Hearing your favorite song on the radio
Lying in bed listening to the rain outside
Finding the sweater you want on sale for half price
Chocolate milkshakes
A long distance phone call
A bubble bath
Giggling
A good conversation
The beach
Finding a twenty dollar bill in your coat from last winter
Laughing at yourself
Midnight phone calls that last for hours
Running through sprinklers
Laughing for absolutely no reason
Having someone tell you that you're beautiful
Friends
Accidently overhearing someone say something nice about you
Waking up and realizing you still have a few hours left to sleep
Your first kiss
Making new friends and spending time with old ones
Playing with a new puppy
Sweet dreams
Hot chocolate
Road trips with friends
Swinging on swings
Watching a good movie cuddled up on the couch with someone you love
Wrapping Christmas presents
Going to a really good concert
Hugging the person you love
Watching the sunrise
Getting out of bed and thanking God for another beautiful day

The photo of Keith Urban was kinda for me and the ladies who read this board.... the lyrics are for my hubby .... LOL!!!!! Enjoy the photo girls!!!!! wink wink!!!!!

Keith Urban's Memories of Us
Thanks Keith For Such A Wonderful Song!

I'm gonna be here for you baby
I'll be a man of my word
Speak the language in a voice that you have never heard
I wanna sleep with you forever
And I wanna die in your arms
I'm gonna love you like nobody loves you
And I'll earn your trust making memories of us
I wanna steal your attention like a bad outlaw
I wanna stand out in a crowd for you
A man among men
I wanna make your world better than it's ever been
I'm gonna be here for you from now on
This you know somehow
You've been stretched to the limits but it's alright now
And I'm gonna make you this promise
If there's life after this
I'm gonna be there to meet you with a warm, wet kiss
And I'm gonna love you like nobody loves you
And I'll earn your trust making memories of us
I'm gonna love you like nobody loves you
And I'll win your trust making memories of us

Don't Ask Me Why But This Song Just Moves Me To Tears Everytime I Hear It... Thanks Rob, For Such A Beautifully Moving Song!

"Ever The Same"
Rob Thomas

We were drawn from the weeds
We were brave like soldiers
Falling down under the pale moonlight
You were holding to me
Like a someone broken
And I couldn't tell you but I'm telling you now
Just let me hold you while you're falling apart
Just let me hold you and we'll both fall down
Fall on me
Tell me everything you want me to be
Forever with you forever in me
Ever the same
We would stand in the wind
We were free like water
Flowing down
Under the warmth of the sun
Now it's cold and we're scared
And we've both been shaken
Hey, look at us
Man, this doesn't need to be the end
Just let me hold you while you're falling apart
Just let me hold you and we'll both fall down
Fall on me tell me everything you want me to be
Forever with you
Forever in me
Ever the same
Call on me
I'll be there for you and you'll be there for me
Forever it's you
Forever in me
Ever the same
You may need me there
To carry all your weight
But you're no burden I assure
You tide me over
With a warmth I'll not forget
But I can only give you love
Fall on me tell me everything you want me to be
Forever with you
Forever in me
Ever the same
Call on me
I'll be there for you and you'll be there for me
Forever it's you
Forever in me
Ever the same
Forever with you
Forever in me
Ever the same

AMEN!!!!!!!

Never Alone
Mercyme -

It's been one of those days
When everything just feels so far away
Hope don't be a stranger
Won't you help me make it through today?
Then a voice comes calling out to me
You're never alone cause I am with you
And I will always be
I will hold you cause you belong to me
You're never alone cause I'll be with you
For all eternity
Someone tell me how I
Stumble into doubting all the time
Some days I'm all together
And other days I stand here asking why
Then a voice comes calling out to me
You're never alone cause I am with you
And I will always be
I will hold you cause you belong to me
You're never alone cause I'll be with you
For all eternity
Then a voice comes calling out to me
You're never alone cause I am with you
And I will always be
I will hold you cause you belong to me
You're never alone cause I'll be with you
For all eternity
[repeat]
You're never alone
You're never alone

Who You'd Be Today
As sung by Kenny Chesney

Sunny days seem to hurt the most
Wear the pain like a heavy coat
I feel you everywhere I go
See your smile, I see your face
I hear you laughing in the rain
Still can't believe your gone
(Chorus:)
It ain't fair you died to young
Like a story that had just begun
But death tore the pages all away
God knows how I miss you
All the hell that I've been through
Just knowing, no one could take your place
Sometimes I wonder, who you'd be today
Would you see the world
Would you chase your dreams
Settle down with a familyI wonder what would you name your babies
Someday's the sky's so blue
I feel like I can talk to you
And I know it might sound crazy
(Chorus)
Today [3x]
Today [3x]
Sunny days seem to hurt the most
I wear the pain like a heavy coat
The only thing that gives me hope
Is I know, I'll see you again someday
Someday,
Someday

I know I've been mistaken
But just give me a break and see the changes that I've made
I've got some imperfections

I've made a commitment
I'm willing to bleed for you
I needed fulfillment
I found what I need in you
Why can't you just forgive me
I don't want to relive all the mistakes I've made along the way

Here By Me! By 3 Doors Down

I hope you’re doing fine out there without me
'Cause I'm not doing so good without you
The things I thought you'd never know about me
Were the things I guess you always understood
So how could I have been so blind for all these years
I guess I only see the truth through all this fear of living without you
And everything I have in this world
And all that I'll ever be
It could all fall down around me

Just as long as I have you right here by me
I can’t take another day without you
'Cause, baby, I could never make it on my own
I've been waiting so long just to hold you
And to be back in your arms where I belong
I'm sorry I can't always find the words to say
But everything I've ever known gets swept away
Inside of your love
And everything I have in this world
All that I'll ever be
It could all fall down around me
Just as long as I have you right here by me
As the days roll on I see
Time is standing still for me
When you’re not here
I’m sorry I can’t always find the words to say
Everything I’ve ever known gets swept away
Inside of your love
And everything I have in this world
And all that i'll ever be
It could all fall down around me
Just as long as I have you right here by me

Bon Voyage, Nathan!!!!! Have Fun And Tell Everyone Hello For Me!!!!! I Miss You Already!!!!!!

Come Home Soon
As sung by Shedaisy

I put away the groceries
And I take my daily bread
I dream of your arms around me
As I tuck the kids in bed
I don't know what you're doin'
And I don't know where you are
But I look up at that great big sky
And I hope you're wishin' on that same bright star
I wonder, I pray
And I sleep alone
I cry alone
And it's so hard livin' here on my own
So please, come home soon(Come home soon)
I know that we're together
Even though we're far apart
And I'll wear our lucky penny 'round my neck Pressed to my heart
I wonder, I pray
And I sleep alone
I cry alone
And it's so hard livin' here on my own
So please, come home soon (Come home soon)
I still imagine your touch
It's beautiful missing something that much
But sometimes love needs a fighting chance
So I'll wait my turn until it's our turn to dance
I wonder, I pray
I sleep alone
I cry alone
Without you this house is not a home
So please, come home soon
I walk alone
I try alone
I'll wait for you, don't want to die alone
So please, come home soon
Come home soon
Come home soon

Forget Your Troubles Come On Get Happy!

this photo should be captioned sing unto the Lord a NEW song! Or make a joyful NOISE unto the the Lord... For God is good ALL THE TIME!

I was asked the other day what my New Years Resolution was-----------????????
I was stumped usually it is to lose weight and I am already working hard on that endeavor I know I still have around 30 lbs to lose but I WILL get there no need in making a whole resolution for that--------- !!!!!!
So what was my resolution going to be this year????????
After the end of this week (a very LONG story) I have a resolution I think everyone around me will LOVE!!!!!!

I am going to be happier! Yes HAPPIER! I am going to work hard at being more positive and less whiny... I am going to gripe less and praise God more! This is going against my nature of late but if doing the opposite can work for George Constanza on Seinfeld hopefully it can work for me!

I found the following list of ten things to make you unhappy on a website the other day and I think it is the key to breaking the &%#@$y syndrome I am in! I figured if I found out what I was doing to make myself miserable I could maybe stop the behavior before I let it get the best of me! And some St John's Wort or SAM-e will probably help some too but knowing the behavior and learning the patterns is the first step to conquering it... It is kind of like an addiction of sorts! You have to admit you have a problem to take the first steps on the road to recovery. I have taken this to God in prayer as well and PLEADED for him to help me turn my disposition around like he has helped me turn my weight around (I bought a size 6 yes I said 6 yes S-I-X... jeans today).... there is no problem to small or to large for God to handle. I just have to let it go and give it over to him (which I kinda have control issues ssssoooo that is not as easy as it sounds). But I am really gonna try so please all of you pray for me and as they said in It's A Wonderful Life "yes Tommy pray hard" .... PRAY HARD for me. I really need your support with this even more than the weight thing! I know with the help and support of my prayer warriors there is no problem that God and I can not handle! Hope this little list will help some of you out there as much as it did me .... I am guilty of all ten but that is going to change I am saying NOT ANYMORE; ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! Life is too short to be miserable! So lets get happy!

Ten Ways To Be Unhappy
by Neil Eskelin

1) Make little things bother you. Don’t just let them, make them.

2) Lose your perspective on things and keep it lost: don’t put first things first.

3) Find yourself a good worry, one about which you cannot do anything.

4)Be a perfectionist, which means not that you work hard to do your best, but that you condemn yourself and others for not achieving perfection.

5)Be right. Be always right. Be the only one who is always right, and be rigid in your rightness.

6)Don’t trust or believe people, or accept them at anything but their worst and weakest.

7)Be suspicious. Insist that others always have hidden motives.

8)Always compare yourself unfavorably to others. This guarantees instant misery.

9)Take personally everything that happens to you.

10)Don’t give yourself whole-heartedly to anyone or anything.

Now, Create a "Positive" Happy List!
so you heard the man get busy I am!

Come On Lets Get Happy
as sung by Judy Garland

Forget your troubles
Come on get happy
You better chase all you cares away
Shout halleuja
Come on get happy
Get ready for the judgement day
The sun is shining
Come on get happy
The lord is waiting to take your hand
Shout halleuja
Come on get happy
We're going to the promised land
We're heading across the river
Wash your sins away in the tide
It's all so peaceful on the other side
Forget your troubles
Come on get happy
You better chase all you cares away
Shout halleuja
Come on get happy
Get ready for the judgement day
Forget your troubles
Come on get happy
You better chase all you cares away
Halleuja
Come on get happy
For the judgement day
The sun is shining
Come on get happy
The lord is waiting to take your hand
Shout halleuja
Come on get happy
We're going to the promised land
We're heading across the river
Wash your sins away in the tide
It's quiet and peaceful on the other side
Forget your troubles
Get happy
Your cares fly away
Shout halleuja
Get happy
Get ready your judgement day
Come on get happy
Chase your cares away
Shout halleuja
Come on get happy
Get ready for the judgement day
The sun is shining
Come on get happy
The lord is waiting to take your hand
Halleuja
Come on get happy
We're going to the promised land
We're heading across the river
Wash your sins away in the tide
It's all so peaceful on the other side
Shout halleuja
Come on get happy
You better chase all your cares away
Shout halleuja
Come on get happy
Get ready
Get ready
Get ready
For the judgement day

When Your Smiling
as sung by Bro Dave Garner

When you?re smilin?, when you?re smilin?
The whole world smiles with you
When you?re laughin?, when you?re laughin?
The sun comes shinin? through
But when you?re cryin?, you bring on the rain
So stop that cryin?, be happy again
Keep on smilin?, ?cause when you?re smilin?
The whole world smiles with you
When you?re smilin?, when you?re smilin?
The whole world, it smiles with you
When you?re laughin?, oh babe, when you?re laughin?
The sun would-a come shining through
But when you?re cryin?, you bring on the rain
So stop that sighin?, come on and be happy again
Keep on smilin?, ?cause when you?re smilin?, baby
The whole world smiles with you

You Can Do This Too .....

I began a journey about 12 weeks ago to change my life! I began to work at my weight by eating 1000 calorie diet and walking... I have lost between 25-30 pounds since then... I am up to 3 miles a day on the treadmill on 5 plus incline! I walk 5 miles on Friday. This has been a relatively easy way to lose the weight because I have not had to deny myself things I love. I can eat out with my family because I have done alot and I mean ALOT of research on fast food places. I know what I can eat at say the McDonalds/Wendy's/Whataburgers of the world. It is amazing to me that most fast good places have online nutritional information that you can download and print out. I also keep a daily journal of calories eaten and miles walked. I have taken daily vitamins which was suggested in several articles online on the 1000 calorie a day diet. I take one a day weight smart and calcium supplement... as well as dexatrim max (which is also a vitamin supplement). I have about 25-30 more pounds to go so I still need your prayers! It is so amazing that I can fit into tee shirts that I had in 1982 - 83! If I can lose weight ANYONE can!!!!! I was one of the ones who thought gastric surgery would be the ONLY way! With all the debate over the safety of these surgeries now.... I am glad that I just trusted in God to provide me with a plan and will power to follow my plan! So now you know my New Years Resolution ... to keep on keeping on and finally I have to thank my hubby, my kids, and especially my friend Tammy for all the support!

Remembering Who I Am And Where I Came From!!!!

My Place In The South
Written by Tracye Wynne Malone Prewitt

Being born Southern, I have had an almost inborn love and reverence for family, tradition, and the land upon which I was raised. My fondest memories are of the time spent on my grandmother’s farm in Franklin, Mississippi. You know those kinds of memories, the kind that is so vivid that when you close your eyes you can hear the doves cooing in the distance on a warm summer afternoon, the bleat of calves in the early evening of spring and the lowing of heifers in response. You can feel the crisp coolness of an early winter’s morning being hustled into the house and into a bed full of handmade quilts. You can feel the cool respite of the fan in the blistering heat of a summer’s day; as you waited for the homemade ice cream to freeze. You can almost see the seasons as they head on their relentless march through the years. You also have smells that never leave your memory, like the smell of freshly sliced apples as they hit the salt water bath at your grandmother’s feet as she sits at the end of the hall as a cool breeze seeps in the back screen door. My memories of Franklin and of my childhood there are very cherished to me. The summers of fishing on the little pond with Nannie, Cooter, and Lennie, the expeditions over the pasture and leaf filled gullies, “getting lost” and the subsequent pick up truck rides home again. Picking blackberries in the warm sun, and the shelling of butter beans, peas, and the snapping of string beans were some of my favorite memories. Then there were the quite times that seem now the most precious of all when we all just sat on the front porch and watched as the summer sun, blazing in a magnificent orange ball, silently slide down in the afternoon sky as the doves cooed, the cattle lowed. God was in his Heaven, and all was right with the world. I can still feel the winter’s chill on my cheeks, the smell of hay in the barn, and the eager cattle awaiting their winter supplement. There were the warm space heaters and the ice-cold bathroom. Spring brought daffodils, roses, and baby chicks. Nannie chasing down a chick for me to cuddle and admire is one memory that still brings a smile and sometimes a tear. Easter was filled with cousins and egg hunts. Summer, with the exception of Christmas, was the best season of all because it brought puppies, calves, watermelons, homemade ice cream, and tomato sandwiches. There were often crop dusters overhead and cotton growing in the adjacent fields. The place as we called it was a mixture of pasture and woodlands. There were two actual ponds and then there was the frog pond. The gullies that ran through the woodlands were to me as a child Franklin’s version of the Grand Canyon. There was a special place that only I knew about, it seemed almost spiritual to me, there was a dogwood that stood all alone in a clearing just beyond the little pond, and when the sun shown on this tree and it’s thousand of blooms it seemed to glow. It was the most amazing thing I had ever seen in my life. The barn even though it wasn’t a natural phenomenon was the center of the place and to the cows in winter it was their Mecca. The barn was where I bottle-fed my calf Twister, where I saw a paralyzed cow walk again with a little love and encouragement, and where several litters of kittens were born. The people who paraded through those slamming screen doors of the place also fill my heart, memories, and soul. They are who made me who I am today. There was a host of relatives and friends that graced Nannie’s door too numerous to count or list here. I always loved visitors another Southern trait taught to me by my grandmother. Nannie was the most memorable character in my life and she shaped me more than anyone else has or will. She had a quiet, poised, dignity about her. She loved without questions or limitations. She believed in me with all of her being and believed that I could be or do anything! The kind of unconditional love and faith she showed to me comes along very rarely and I feel blessed to have been given such an amazing gift, as her love for me She wasn’t a physical beauty but her ways and soul made her beautiful to me. She did all things well from making doll clothes, to quilting, to cooking but most of all she was my best friend, who else would make me homemade soup or homemade French fries for breakfast. The death of Nannie caused the death of a part of me as well as the death of the place as I had known and loved it. Every time I drive by the ole house and see it in disrepair my heart aches for the way my life was then, for my innocence, for the simplicity of life on that ole hill, and for my place in the South.
